Hitherto

I was in the Thai Supermarket when I saw these gates at the entrance to Ravenscourt Park over the road. All these years living in the area and i’ve never looked up before - perhaps that is the purpose of this project, to notice and see more. Anyway, the light was good and the colours and textures were interesting. I decided to take a photo, expecting some Latin phrase in the centre scroll but instead just the single word - Hitherto, and nothing else. A sign maybe, or portent of what’s to come.
