I read a review of the book ‘Why The Germans Do It Better’ this week and it reminded me of my visit there last September for the Eurobike show. There is indeed a lot to admire about the country, not least their magnificent Weizen.
In June 2022 I took on the inaugural Transalp 1200, a bike ride through northern Italy, Austria and Slovenia. The 1250km event started and finished in Verona and took in the South Tirol, the Sillian and Julian Alps along the way.
