In June 2022 I took on the inaugural Transalp 1200, a bike ride through northern Italy, Austria and Slovenia. The 1250km event started and finished in Verona and took in the South Tirol, the Sillian and Julian Alps along the way.

Ragusa

I’ve visited Sicily a few times in the past few years, one of my favours places. I was there in 2018 visiting a few of the ‘Inspector Montalbano’ locations. Ragusa is used as a backdrop for the local town in the series and the show is back on BBC4, Saturday nights. Perfect winter viewing.
