In June 2022 I took on the inaugural Transalp 1200, a bike ride through northern Italy, Austria and Slovenia. The 1250km event started and finished in Verona and took in the South Tirol, the Sillian and Julian Alps along the way.

Travelling back from Brixton today I stopped on Vauxhall Bridge to capture this impressive apartment Block opposite the hideous Secret Service building. I’ve just finished reading another Le Carre novel, this one more of an origin story for his imperious ‘Spy who came in from the Cold’. Old George Smiley would certainly be no fan of the present incarnation of ‘The Circus’, perhaps this would be more his style.
